Notification Setup
How to configure email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams notifications for contract alerts in GovScout.
GovScout can notify you automatically when new contract opportunities match your saved searches and company profiles. Notifications are available through three channels: email, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.
Email Notifications
Email notifications are available on all tiers and are enabled by default when you create a recurring saved search.
Configuring Email Preferences
Navigate to Dashboard > Settings > Notifications to configure your email preferences:
- Digest frequency -- Choose between real-time (individual emails per match) or daily digest (one summary email per day)
- Minimum score threshold -- Only receive notifications for opportunities above a certain AI relevance score
- Email address -- By default, notifications go to your account email. Pro and above users can add additional recipients.
Daily Digest Format
The daily digest email includes:
- A summary of new opportunities found in the last 24 hours
- Each opportunity's title, agency, set-aside type, and AI relevance score
- Direct links to view the full opportunity details on GovScout
- A count of total new matches grouped by saved search
Set your minimum score threshold to 70 or above if you want to receive only strong matches. This prevents notification fatigue from moderate-quality results.
Slack Integration
Connect GovScout to your Slack workspace to receive contract alerts directly in a channel. This is ideal for teams that use Slack as their primary communication tool.
Setup Steps
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Notifications > Slack
- Click Connect to Slack
- Authorize GovScout in your Slack workspace
- Select the channel where you want notifications posted
- Configure which saved searches should send to Slack
Slack Notification Format
Each Slack notification includes:
- Opportunity title and posting agency
- Set-aside type and NAICS code
- AI relevance score with a color indicator (green for 70+, yellow for 50-69, red for below 50)
- Response deadline
- A button to view the full opportunity on GovScout
You can configure Slack notifications for all saved searches or select specific ones. This is useful if you want high-priority alerts in a general channel and lower-priority results in a dedicated contracting channel.
Microsoft Teams Integration
GovScout integrates with Microsoft Teams through an incoming webhook, allowing contract alerts to appear in any Teams channel.
Setup Steps
- In Microsoft Teams, go to the channel where you want notifications
- Click the ... menu and select Connectors (or Workflows in newer Teams versions)
- Add an Incoming Webhook and copy the webhook URL
- In GovScout, go to Dashboard > Settings > Notifications > Teams
- Paste the webhook URL and click Save
- Select which saved searches should send to Teams
Teams Notification Format
Teams notifications use Adaptive Cards that display:
- Opportunity title, agency, and posted date
- Set-aside type and NAICS code
- AI relevance score
- Response deadline with countdown
- Action buttons to view the opportunity or dismiss the notification
Notification Settings per Search
Each saved search can have its own notification configuration. For example, you might want:
- Your primary capability search to notify via email (real-time) and Slack
- A secondary exploratory search to notify via email (daily digest) only
- A high-priority search for expiring opportunities to notify via all three channels
To configure per-search settings, go to any saved search and click Edit Notifications.
